    A mechanical engineer with a specialty in electricity and electronics, he acquired solid experience and broad knowledge during nine years as patent examiner in the Mexican Industrial Property Institute (IMPI). His practice includes the electric, electronic, mechanics, software and telecommunications industries. Efrén advises multinational companies and recognized educational centers in the drafting, filing and prosecution of patent, utility model and industrial design applications in Mexico and abroad, the drafting of opinions and the implementation of strategies. He also assists with technical opinions on patentability of new inventions and conducts patentability, infringement and family searches. He has been a speaker in forums of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla and the Universidad del Valle de México.
