Update: Suspension of terms and deadlines for the Ministry of Energy

Today, the Ministry of Energy (“SENER”) published in the evening edition of the Official Gazette of the Federation the “Resolution establishing the suspension of legal terms and deadlines at the Ministry of Energy, as a measure to prevent and combat the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.” (“Resolution”).

The Resolution establishes the suspension of the terms and deadlines of the acts and procedures conducted before SENER, during the period from today until April 19, 2020. During said period, the proceedings, notifications, requirements, applications, or filings submitted before SENER will be deemed carried out on April 20, 2020. The Resolution establishes that the days and hours that prove necessary during the referenced period may be enabled, in order to attend to matters whose urgency and relevance so warrant. Finally, the Resolution notes that the procurement, leasing, and services procedures whose performance is of extreme urgency are excepted from the suspension measure.
