Dear clients and friends, On April 9, the Chamber of Deputies approved the bill amending Articles 33 and 1006 of the Federal Labor Law concerning the signing of blank documents, which was introduced by members of the Movimiento Ciudadano and Partido Revolucionario Institucional parties. The purpose of this bill is to eradicate the bad practices of certain employers who compel newly hired workers to sign blank sheets so that they may later be filled in with text implying a waiver of rights (a purported voluntary termination of the employment relationship) or imposing obligations on the worker.
