May 1, 2014Dear clients and friends,Yesterday, Wednesday, April 30, 2014, the Chamber of Deputies approved, in general and in particular, the new Federal Economic Competition Law ("LFCE" or the "Law"), the result of the constitutional reform on economic competition and telecommunications, published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on June 11, 2013 (the "Constitutional Reform").This Law is the result of various analyses and discussions by the Congress of the Union on the bill submitted by the Federal Executive Branch on February 19, 2014, a bill that underwent more than 90 changes by the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.By virtue of the foregoing, the Federal Economic Competition Law of 1992 will be repealed and the new LFCE will enter into force, with a total content of 138 articles, regulating article 28 of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States.To read the full document please click here.For additional information, contact our expert:Fernando Carreño, Partner:fcarreno@vwys.com.mx, +52 55 5258 1042.
