This past September 28, 2012, the Chamber of Deputies of the Federal Congress approved a decree amending, adding to, and repealing various provisions of the Federal Labor Law (LFT). Said decree was sent, for all constitutional purposes, to the Chamber of Senators of the Congress as the reviewing chamber. This past October 24, that legislative body approved the decree, making certain modifications (adding only 8 articles concerning union life and transparency) and returned it to the Chamber of Deputies so that it could review (and, where applicable, approve) the changes made by the Senators. Subsequently, the Chamber of Deputies approved most of the additions submitted by the Senators, except for two modified articles and completely eliminating two other articles. New methodology for electricity transmission service charges applicable to self-supply and cogeneration
