An agreement issued by the Ministry of Health was published today in the Official Gazette of the Federation, whereby the manufacture of motor transport equipment, mining and construction are included as essential activities not subject to suspension. As a consequence, these industries and activities may resume operations as of June 1, being required to first implement in the workplace the health and safety guidelines issued by the competent authorities.
With regard to the manufacture of motor transport equipment, no precise definition of the benefited companies is included. However, the breadth of that concept would allow the conclusion that the final producers of any type of cargo and passenger transport vehicle are included, including light passenger vehicles, pick-ups and trucks, as well as all companies belonging to the supply chain. It is also established that, as of May 18, 2020, essential and non-essential activities may resume in those municipalities that are free of COVID-19 and that do not border others that do present cases. The list of municipalities free of COVID-19 will be published no later than May 17, 2020 on the page www.salud.gob.mx For additional information, contact our experts: Luis Burgueño, Partner: +52 (55) 5258 1003 | lburgueno@vwys.com.mx Luis Miguel Jiménez, Partner: +52 (55) 5258 1058 | lmjimenez@vwys.com.mx Rupert Hüttler, Partner: +52 (55) 5258 1038 | rhuettler@vwys.com.mx Rodolfo Trampe, Partner: +52 (55) 5258 1054 | rtrampe@vwys.com.mx
