The governments of Mexico City and the State of Mexico ordered the suspension of non-essential activities from December 19, 2020 until January 10, 2021. This decision was prompted by the increase in Covid-19 infection rates and the consequent hospital saturation in both states.
The list of essential activities not subject to suspension remains in line with the lists contained in several agreements issued in April 2020, at both the federal and state levels, and therefore also includes the activities necessary to confront the pandemic, those related to public safety, those intended to address basic needs, and those related to critical infrastructure. In addition to the new lists seeking to be more detailed, they also specify that essential activities include their respective supply and provisioning chain, as well as the activities strictly necessary for their proper execution and directly related to them.
