Von Wobeser y Sierra Wins Arbitration Advising a Leading Company in the Chemical Sector

In a unanimous decision, one of the leading companies in the chemical market in Mexico won the arbitration case commenced by one of its competitors in the market in connection with the breach of a Purchase and Sale Agreement. The respondent was represented by the arbitration litigation team of Von Wobeser y Sierra, S.C., led by Mr. Claus von Wobeser and Montserrat Manzano, as well as by the U.S. firm Hunton & Williams, LLP, led by Mr. Eric Murdock. On July 6, 2010, the ICC Court of Arbitration communicated the Final Award, by which the Arbitral Tribunal resolved that there was no breach on the part of the respondent, dismissing the claims arising from the possible liability derived from the failure to disclose facts that, in its opinion, constituted violations of various provisions of the Social Security Law. In addition to the foregoing, the claimant was ordered to bear the costs of legal representation.
