Von Wobeser y Sierra Obtains Favorable Award for Anheuser-Busch InBev

The arbitration litigation team of Von Wobeser y Sierra, S.C., led by Claus von Wobeser, successfully represented AB-InBev in the arbitration commenced against it by Grupo Modelo under Mexican law.

Specifically, on July 9, 2010, the Arbitral Tribunal issued its Final Award declaring that InBev's acquisition of Anheuser-Busch did not violate any provision of the Investment Agreement entered into with Grupo Modelo. In this Final Award, AB-InBev was also absolved of the two-billion-five-hundred-million-dollar damages claim brought by Grupo Modelo. AB-InBev was additionally represented in this case by the United States firms Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP, and Sullivan & Cromwell, LLP.
