Since its foundation, our firm has had a pro bono culture. For more than 35 years we have seen the benefit of pro bono work, particularly in the way it brings a positive impact to our communities, at both the social and environmental levels.
Pro bono work has a transformative effect on our society, as it helps individuals or communities from vulnerable groups of the population and civil society organizations to thrive and gain access to free legal advice. For these reasons, we are pleased to share with you that, for the tenth consecutive year, Von Wobeser y Sierra, S.C. has been recognized as a “Pro Bono Leading Light 2021” by Latin Lawyer and The Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice. This recognition is granted to a select group of firms in Latin America that have pro bono legal advice embedded in their culture and that continually promote this cause among all of their collaborators. Edmond Grieger, the partner who currently leads the Pro Bono Committee’s efforts at VWyS, shares with us: “As a firm, we are proud to provide free legal support that contributes to the development of individuals and communities from the most vulnerable groups of our society. We are fully committed to working for the common good.” We are honored by this distinction, and also grateful to our lawyers involved in this work. Likewise, we extend our congratulations to all those firms in Latin America that were recognized for their commitment and pro bono work.
