  • Maria Elisa Vera Madrigal is an associate at Von Wobeser y Sierra. She specializes in internal investigations, anti-corruption, and compliance, and has over fifteen years of experience in criminal law and complex investigations.


    She advises domestic and international companies on anti-money laundering, internal investigations, administrative liability, and corporate legal responsibility. During her career in the Federal Government, she coordinated complex investigations, litigated criminal matters involving corruption, and designed public policy in the field. She developed and executed defense strategies before local and federal courts and the Supreme Court of Justice of México, and has represented clients before international authorities and organizations.

    She is licensed to practice law in México and in the state of Texas, where she served in the Public Defender’s Office for the Rio Grande Valley. In addition to her practice, she writes specialized articles on criminal, anti-corruption, and gender law, and participates as a speaker at international academic forums on the fight against corruption.
