On May 25, 2020 the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources (“SEMARNAT”) published on the webpage of the National Regulatory Improvement Commission (“CONAMER”) for draft bills, the “RULING approving days and hours for carrying out procedures to obtain the certificates established in the federal registry of procedures and services of the national regulatory improvement commission “PROFEPA-03-005 certification of new vehicles”, review, evaluation and, as the case may be, certification of new vehicles in plant, “PROFEPA-02-001 obtaining an environmental certificate” types A and C; and PROFEPA-02-002 request for the renewal of an environmental certificate”, types A and B” (the “Ruling”).
The Ruling establishes that May 27, 28 and 29, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. will be available for carrying out the procedures related to obtaining and renewing the Environmental Certification and Certification of New Vehicles or new vehicles in plant; which are identified in the Federal Registry of Procedures and Services of CONAMER. All this is under the procedures:
I. PROFEPA-03-005, “Certification of New Vehicles” review, evaluation and if appropriate certification of new vehicles in plant;
II. PROFEPA-02-001, “Obtaining an Environmental Certificate”, types A and C; and
III. PROFEPA-02-002, “Request for Renewal of an Environmental Certificate”, types A and B.
In this regard, the procedures may be carried out in the offices of the Federal Environmental Protection Agency, and electronically in the On-Line Environmental Audit System (“SAAEL”).
Finally, to carry out these procedures the sanitary and healthy distance provisions should be taken into account; for this purpose they opened up electronic media, in order to avoid greater concentration and transit of people as much as possible, and to safeguard the health of the public officials and the citizens.
