We would like to inform you that on June 9, 2026, a decree was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation establishing administrative measures in connection with the opening match of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Mexico City (the “Decree”).
Pursuant to the Decree, private-sector companies and employers are encouraged to implement remote work, teleworking arrangements, or other flexible work organization schemes on June 11, 2026, for all non-essential administrative activities. This measure aims to contribute to urban mobility and road safety during the event.
To avoid any misunderstanding, it is important to note that the scope of the Decree is limited, as it merely extends an invitation to adopt flexible work arrangements. Under no circumstances should it be interpreted as declaring a public holiday or non-working day, nor as imposing a mandatory obligation by the Federal Government.
