Mexico City-based firm Von Wobeser & Sierra SC has announced that Diego Sierra is the firm’s newest partner. Sierra's promotion brings the firm's partnership to 12. He will take the reins of the firm’s anticorruption and compliance practice, advising global and local clients on compliance with Mexican anti-corruption rules as well as extra-territorial statutes such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. The promotion does not mean Sierra will cease to be active in the firm's commercial litigation and international arbitration practice.

The Mexican Congress has published a draft antitrust law that would bring into effect sweeping changes to the country’s enforcement regime brought by a constitutional reform last year, but there are worries in some quarters that certain measures may in fact stifle competition.
